Men's Weekend Retreat
Friday, Feb. 18 - Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022
Loyola Retreat House, Morristown
"Meeting the Living God:
Spirituality for the 21st Century"
Retreat Leader: Thomas R. Marciniak, S.J.
Sponsored by Christ the King Parish
Join Fr. Brian, Jonathan Camiolo and other men of the parish on this weekend of communal prayer, personal reflection, spiritual learning and community building through discussion. This new format promises to be a powerful weekend. ALL MEN ARE INVITED!
Retreat Description
One can say that the last true revolution in spirituality came with the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. Many devout Christians use the Spiritual Exercises unchanged from their origins in the sixteenth century. In the twentieth century another Jesuit, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, developed a revolutionary spirituality by integrating contemporary science and faith, offering us a new way to understand the Word of God and the immensity of the Universal Christ.
Our weekend retreat will help us understand this new landscape in mind and heart with a particular emphasis on accompanying men in the joys and struggles they face to understand the Word of God in our contemporary circumstances and to deepen our call to be co-laborers with Christ for the salvation of this world during our unique time in history.
Please join us on this exciting adventure of faith and discovery. On this weekend, instead of the traditional silent retreat format, we will use a format that encourages engagement and community building by integrating conversation at meals and in various group settings, but also allows for plenty of time for silent reflection and personal prayer.
