In the Catholic faith, the Eucharist is the heart of the Mass and the most important of the seven sacraments. We believe in the “real presence” of Christ in Holy Communion and are strengthened by His body and blood.
We welcome our fellow practicing Catholics to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist. Although we warmly welcome all visitors, because the celebration of the Eucharist is a sign of the oneness of faith, life and worship, only Catholics may receive Communion.
FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST
We offer the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist to those who have reached the age of reason (usually age 7) and older and who have received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. In addition to attendance at a Family Based Religious Education process, Candidates for First Holy Eucharist will prepare at home with provided materials, as well as attend five preparation Liturgies and a workshop with their parents.
The Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist is offered the First Saturday of May. A Parent Meeting is required for Sacrament Registration. Please note that the diocese asks that all children have two years of Religious Education prior to the reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
If you would like your child to prepare and receive his/her Sacraments, please contact Erin to set up a time to meet and discuss.
